Welcome Letter to Families
Dear families,
Welcome to a wonderful Kindergarten year in Room 10!
My name is Patricia Cuevas and I am very excited to be your child’s teacher this year. I welcome you all to Emerson Spanish Immersion Learning Center. This will be my 7th year teaching and my 3rd year here at Emerson. I graduated from the University of Madrid en Spain where I received my degree in early childhood education and my licensure in educational psychology.
I was born in Zaragoza and have currently been living in Madrid with my family for 10 years. The town I’m from is called Aranjuez and it is famous for having a beautiful palace. I studied there for 18 years before I went to college in Madrid. My family is from the vasc country where I love to visit when I have the opportunity.
I love to read, listen to music and travel. This will not be the first time I have lived outside of Spain. I also have spent time in San Francisco and Toronto where I acquired a lot of knowledge about different cultures in North America.
All instruction in my classroom will be in Spanish except for 30 minutes in English. I believe that families are key for your child’s success in school, following up on their understanding of what they are learning in the classroom, and engaging with the school. I look forward to working together to make your child’s school experience great! I look forward to the memories and learning opportunities of the upcoming year! We are a team; a team that will work together to provide your child with support in order to be successful.
Thank you!
Maestra Paty
