¡Hola!  Mi nombre es Jessica Neukirch. Yo crecí en una granja en Nebraska y en 1994 empecé mis estudios en Luther College. En 1997 fui a vivir en Guatemala para estudiar español Quiché. En 1998 después de graduarme de la universidad con un Bachillerato en Español y Antropología, fui a vivir en Chile para enseñar inglés. Regresé de Chile en 1999 y empecé a trabajar en las Escuelas Públicas de Minneápolis como maestra asistente en Green Central. Mientras trabajaba saqué mi licencia de educación bilingüe, educación primaria y Español en Hamline University. Y saqué mi maestría de inglés como segundo idioma en 2020. Yo he enseñado todos los grados de Kindergarten a 8o Grado. Yo empecé a eseñar en Minneápolis en la Escuela Whittier. En el 2012, yo cambié a Emerson. ¡A mi me encanta enseñar en nuestra escuela de inmersión! Yo soy una especialista académica en Emerson. 

Tengo una familia bilingüe. Mi esposo es de Morelos, México. Tenemos dos niños. Nuestra hija se llama Eva, y nuestro hijo Noé.  En familia nos gusta pasar tiempo andando en bicicleta, haciendo rompecabezas, jugando juegos y viendo películas. Vivimos en Minneapolis. Aparte de pasar tiempo en familia, en mi tiempo libre me encanta leer, correr, trabajar en mi jardín y tejer. 

Hello, my name is Jessica Neukirch. I grew up on a farm in Nebraska. In 1994, I started college at Luther. In 1997, I went to live in Guatemala to study Spanish and Quiché. In 1998, I graduated from college with a degree in Spanish and Anthropology, and then moved to Chile to teach English. In 1999, I returned from Chile and began working for Minneapolis Public Schools as an Associate Educator at Green Central. I returned to school and received my licensure in Bilingual Education, Elementary Education and Spanish at Hamline University. I received my Masters in English as a Second Language in 2020. I have taught all grades from Kindergarten to 8th Grade. I began teaching at Whittier International School. In 2012, I came to Emerson. I love teaching at our dual immersion school! I am an Academic and Differentiation Specialist at Emerson.

I have a bilingual family. My husband is from Morelos, Mexico. We have two kids. Our daughter's name is Eva and our son's name is Noé. My family enjoys spending time riding bikes, doing puzzles, playing games and watching movies. We live in Minneapolis. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, running, gardening, and knitting in my free time.
